trouble in paradise is a pure testament to the roots of r&b flavored vocal house. in the danism vox the sweet simplicity of the standard boom & clap intro is well paced and leads into the funky bassline, while the enchanting chords set the stage for the outstanding vocal performance of sean williams. his r&b flavored, distinctive phrasing is mildly reminiscent of john legend, however, seans earthy quality shines through. the passionate & insistent lyrical melody never fails, climaxing into panoramic bridges while the memorable bah de dahsintermittently dot the production. its texture is a reminder of sophisticated nyc funk a la early 80s prelude/west end/sam records with a modern house feel. djs, if you want the ladies on the floor, trouble in paradise (danism vox) is the one to drop!

c mon get up! get up! its sunday and time to go to church! gents hold on to your bibles, ladies hold on to your hats & fans as dj drop this crazy sunday evening mix on the congregation. sean mccabe from the blak beat niks puts the feet in stomp with this track. just listen to the thick, pounding kick of the beat! soulful guitar riffs and the base organ that roll in tandem with the guitar taking the energy level pass infinity. another organ wheezes, whines, shakes and wiggles against the groove, while the strings carry the original melody. the modulations are too intense and will drive any dance floor crazy and have them begging for more.

tony lionni is the new signing here at versatile. listening to papaia one cant help to think that 2008 will be the year that progressive house will make its comeback. it has been a long time since we had heard such a simple and effective kick and bass intro. the hi-hat then come in along with a small acid sound. the filter opens before the rhythm accelerates. in the middle of the track, the main melody gets dropped in, arms raise and the listener gets lost in the darkness of the night. on the b side, shuffle explores the deeper roots of lionni. the title is surely a reference to the beat, which is predominant in this track. once again the hi-hats are up infront mixed to percussive sounds, which undulate to the rhythm of the bass, making this track an essential tool, ready-to-use and be mixed into almost anything.
